In a good news for the contractual teachers of medical colleges in Odisha, the State government nearly doubled their remuneration.

The announcement was made by a Health department notification, that read, “The government after careful consideration, have been pleased to enhance the consolidated remuneration of the medical college teachers engaged in the government medical colleges on contractual basis with immediate effect.

Contractual medical college Professors who were getting a base remuneration of Rs 1.25 lakh per month with a 3 percent hike per annum, will now get Rs 2.3 lakh per month with a 5 percent hike per annum.

The contractual medical college Associate Professors who were getting Rs 1 lakh per month and a 3 percent hike per annum will now receive Rs 2 lakh per month and a hike of 5 percent per annum.

Similarly, the contractual Assistant Professors who were getting a monthly salary of Rs 75,000 will now receive Rs 1.2 lakh as salary per month and a hike of 5 percent per annum too.

The contractual medical teachers will be engaged as per Health and Family Welfare Department resolution No 8967 issued on April 25, 2022.
