Odisha's National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent is all set to showcase its talent and discipline at the Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path, Delhi, on January 26, 2025. The contingent’s preparations, which started three months ago, have now reached the final stage.

Out of a staggering 75000 cadets from various districts across the state, only 127 cadets have been selected after excelling in multiple rounds, including physical tests, drills, firing, and cultural events. These cadets are now undergoing rigorous practice sessions at the Sainik School Parade Ground in Bhubaneswar.

Dressed in their uniforms and driven by unwavering determination, the cadets are training with remarkable focus and energy. Their synchronized movements during practice showcase precision and discipline, reflecting the spirit of a cohesive team. As these selected cadets are preparing to represent Odisha on the national stage, they have undergone rigorous training sessions lasting 10 to 12 hours daily, honing their skills and perfecting their performance.

Colonel Debabrat Moitra, Odisha NCC Contingent said, “These cadets initially went through a meticulous selection process, followed by intensive training sessions. For the past month, they have been practicing rigorously for 10-12 hours a day. Only consistent and disciplined training can prepare them to perform in Delhi. I am very hopeful that the Odisha contingent will bring immense pride to the state. We have left no stone unturned in training and preparing them.”

Sudeep Sahoo, a commandant said, “For the last thirty days, our instructor staff, officers, GCIs, and training team have been working tirelessly to train the selected cadets in parades, drills, and cultural events across three camps. I am not only hopeful but confident that the Odisha contingent will shine in Delhi, making it a moment of great pride for the state.”

A cadet shared her experience saying, “We have been preparing for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) training camp over the past month. It is held annually in Delhi from January 1 to January 30. The initial selection was done at the unit level, followed by the group level. Since then, we have been undergoing rigorous training here. By the end of December, we will travel to Delhi.”
