Purported audio of a deal between a guardian and a teacher for assisting a candidate in malpractice during the Matric examination in Odisha has reportedly gone viral on various social media platforms.
As per reports, as many as 85 candidates are appearing for Matric examination at the State Institute of Open School Center under Nimapara block in Puri district.
In the viral audio, it is heard that a guardian of one of the candidates is bargaining with one of the teachers of the school seeking help in malpractice and is ready to pay any price for it.
It is being alleged that teachers at the center are assisting students in malpractice in exchange of huge amount of money from the guardians.
Ironically, the exam center falls within the constituency of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
Reacting on the development, Dash said that appropriate action will be taken following an inquiry into the alleged incident.
“I am aware about the allegations. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. I have asked the Board President to submit a report within three days. Appropriate action will be taken as per the finding of the report,” said Dash.
Meanwhile, Headmaster of the school Mangaraj Rath feigned ignorance about the development.
“I came to know about the development just now. We are conducting the examination properly and there is no question about malpractice at the center,” said Rath.
