A tragic accident occurred near Sebashram under Sadar Police Station on NH-326 in Koraput district, where a bike caught fire after colliding with a truck carrying Kanwariyas on Saturday. In the devastating incident, a man and his son lost their lives as the bike went up in flames following the collision.

As per reports, the incident took place in the Podagada area, where the speeding truck rammed into the bike. The impact led to a fire that engulfed the two-wheeler completely. 

A woman who was also riding the bike sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. 

A pall of gloom has descended in the area following the tragic incident.

Upon being informed, local police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited. 

Earlier last month, as many as 17 persons were injured when a private passenger bus overturned near Sariganda Chhak in Daspalla, Nayagarh district. Four among the passengers were critical. The bus was en route to Bolangir when the mishap took place.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus lost balance and fell off the roadside while taking a turn. Locals rushed to the spot and helped pull out the injured.
