Odisha man ‘kills’ wife; abandons body at hospital in Bhubaneswar

Gupteswar Behera allegedly strangled his wife Nandita to death in Mancheswar, abandoned her body at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and fled.

A man allegedly strangled his wife to death and fled after abandoning her body at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, reports said. The incident took place in the Mancheswar area on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Nandita Behera, wife of the accused Gupteswar Behera.

The matter came to the fore after murder allegations were brought forward by the victim’s family members.

According to sources, murder accused Gupteswar Behera is alleged to have assaulted Nandita following a heated verbal altercation between the couple on Sunday night. Family members of the deceased have claimed that the quarrel escalated, leading to Gupteswar allegedly strangling Nandita to death.

Later, Gupteswar reportedly transported his wife’s body to Capital Hospital. However, instead of informing authorities or remaining at the scene, he allegedly abandoned the body there and fled the premises. 

The deceased woman’s family has brought forward strong allegations against Gupteswar, claiming that he not only murdered Nandita but also attempted to evade responsibility by escaping after leaving her body at the hospital.
