In a deeply distressing incident from the Baliapal police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district, a helpless father reportedly had to transport his daughter’s body on a trolley rickshaw after allegedly failing to arrange money for an ambulance.

The tragic event has sparked widespread outrage and raised serious questions about emergency healthcare access in rural areas.

According to reports, the girl was allegedly found hanging near her village under mysterious circumstances. Upon being alerted, police reached the spot, recovered the body, and reportedly handed it over to the family for post-mortem.

The grieving father tried to arrange an ambulance to transport the body to Baliapal hospital, nearly 6 kilometers away. However, the ambulance driver reportedly demanded Rs 1,200, an amount the father could not arrange at such short notice.

Left with no option, he borrowed a trolley rickshaw from a villager and carried his daughter’s lifeless body all the way to the hospital. Shockingly, upon arrival, hospital staff allegedly informed him that the post-mortem procedure would cost another Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. The father was seen pleading for help from locals.

Photos of the heartbreaking scene have since gone viral on social media, prompting public outrage. Meanwhile, neither the police nor the hospital authorities have issued any formal statement on the matter. The exact cause of the woman’s death is still under investigation.
