After the merit list of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the recruitment of Odisha Junior Teachers was published, scores of aspirants on Wednesday alleged massive irregularities in the examination conducted by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) in 2023. They have expressed their resentment over the alleged irregularities.
As per reports, hundreds of candidates staged a demonstration outside the OSEPA office in Bhubaneswar alleging that the cut-off list of the test had not been published before the publication of the merit list. Though many examinees have secured more marks, they have been left out of the merit list, they said, adding that a final list of those who cleared the CBT has not been published.
One of the agitating candidates said, “We are unable to understand on what basis the merit list or results of the exam has been published. What are the criteria for selection of the candidates? We fail to know who has got how many marks. Another thing that has not been cleared is how many of the successful candidates belong to SC, ST, and UR categories.”

However, OSEPA director Anupam Shah said that a draft merit list of 18, 805 candidates has been published. “We had earlier received objections about the answer keys of the test. We examined the objections from our side. The results of the examination were evaluated on the basis of the CBT scoring. There is no problem with it. We have followed the normal process pertaining to the online test,” Shah added.
