In a bid to improve connectivity between districts, Odisha government will construct a mammoth 2,600 km long grand ring road in the State, informed Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Thursday.

“This infrastructure project is expected to cost approximately Rs 91,000 crore and is slated for completion within the next three years,” said Harichandan while attending an event in Cuttack.

According to the Minister, the Grand Ring Road is projected to significantly reduce travel times, with the capacity for uninterrupted travel within 24 hours along this extensive route.

It will establish a vital link between Malkangiri’s Motu and Mayurbhanj’s Tiring. Additionally, a specialised ring road will be constructed around the mineral-rich regions of Keonjhar and Barbil, amounting to a further investment of Rs 2,200 crore.

“We are dedicated to providing improved infrastructure to support economic growth and ease the lives of our citizens,” said Harichandan emphasising the administration’s focus on sustainable development.
