The Odisha Government has deployed 26 Fire Service teams equipped with modern machinery to Balasore's vulnerable blocks, including Basta and Jaleswar, for flood rescue operations amid rising water levels in Jalaka and Subarnarekha rivers.

Amid fears of a major flood in the Jalaka and Subarnarekha rivers in North Balasore, the Odisha Government has initiated extensive preparedness measures. 

The Fire Services Department has deployed as many as 26 teams, fully equipped with all necessary machinery, to carry out rescue operations and assist people affected by the rising water levels.

"Odisha Fire Service teams are fully ready for the possible flood situation. We have already prepositioned our teams in vulnerable blocks like Basta, Baliapal, Jaleswar and Bhograi blocks. Our team has already rescued some people from waterlogged areas in Basta. We have already deployed a total of 26 teams for Balasore. The teams are fully ready with ultra modern equipment like vehicles, powerboat, cutter and towerlight," said a Fire Service personnel.

"All our deployed employees are trained personnel. All of them have received high-level training and they are skilled persons and they will not face any kind of issues during rescue operations. Selected and dedicated personnel have been deployed for the rescue operations in Balasore. We are hopeful that they will be able to do their work properly," said another Fire Service personnel.

"Flood is arising in different rivers due to the ongoing monsoon session. Basta area in Balasorte district has experienced flood due to rise in water level of Jalaka river. We carry out rescue operations as per the current situation. We have all kinds of rescue equipment. We are fully ready to carry out the rescue operation under any kind of circumstances," said a third Fire Service personnel.
