Odisha Govt approves Rs 1.36L Cr investment in industrial projects with 74,000 job opportunities

The Odisha government sanctioned Rs 1,36,622 Crore for 20 industrial projects at the HLCA meeting in Bhubaneswar. CM Mohan Majhi highlighted the State's commitment to growth and job creation.

Odisha government approved a record-breaking Rs 1,36,622 Crore investment across 20 transformative industrial projects at the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting held in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

As per the govt, “These projects, spanning across diverse sectors such as steel, chemicals, green energy, textiles, and more, are poised to generate employment for over 74,350 individuals and significantly bolster Odisha's economic growth.”

The State has successfully attracted significant investor interest and as a result, this HLCA has given the green signal to many projects, establishing Odisha as a landmark destination for investors and highlighting the success of the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Odisha CM Mohan Majhi emphasised the State’s unwavering commitment to fostering an investment-friendly ecosystem and said, "Through strong cooperation between the State and Central governments, we have fostered a business-friendly environment that attracts investors to Odisha. Our focus is on creating an ecosystem that promotes inclusive growth, sustainability, and job creation. With a focus on developing a strong ecosystem and creating new opportunities, Odisha is set for remarkable growth. Utkarsh Odisha 2025 will mark the beginning of a new era, positioning Odisha as a premier investment destination."

As per the details shared by the govt, the approved projects are in 9 sectors including Steel, Chemicals, Aluminium, Aviation Fuel, Green Energy & Equipment, Apparel & Textiles, Power & renewable energy and Cement.

These projects are strategically distributed across 10 districts of Odisha such as, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Khurdha, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur strengthening Odisha's industrial base and driving sustained economic growth.
