Odisha government to roll out Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Health Insurance Yojana soon

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling announced the upcoming launch of the Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Health Insurance Yojana in Odisha. This initiative will provide cashless health services to 3.5 crore people from one crore families at approximately 27,000 hospitals nationwide.

Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Health Insurance Yojana is going to be launched soon in Odisha, said Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Tuesday. 

Once implemented, around 3.5 crore people of one crore families will get health services at around 27,000 hospitals across the country, informed the Health Minister. 

“We are going to launch Ayushman Bharat Yojana. When the Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Health Insurance Yojana is implemented, as per our estimation, the health card will be issued to around 3.5 crore people individually. With this common card, people will be able to get cash-less services at around 27,000 empanelled hospitals across the country,” said the Health Minister.

Notably, in the old insurance yojana, only people were getting facilities at 950 hospitals.  

As per sources, as many as 67 lakh families will be included under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the rest 33 lakh families will be under the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Health Insurance Yojana. In this new yojana, male and female members will receive insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively.
