Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the historic Bali Yatra in Cuttack City on Friday. The iconic trade fair is scheduled to continue till November 22.
Asia’s largest open-air trade fair, commemorating Odisha’s ancient trade relations with several countries of the world, has many attractions this year including a South East Asia pavilion, wide varieties of merry-go-rounds by Infinity World, a poster gallery of Odia films, and many more.

According to sources, a total of over 2,500 stalls have been erected at the Upper Ground and Lower Ground, including around 500 stalls by ORMAS. Scream Tower ride will be an added attraction, which has been introduced for the first time. About 32 persons can take a ride at a time. Tsunami and Frish-B are a few more amusement rides.
‘Cuttack in Cuttack’ pavilion in Bali Yatra will carry a glimpse of the historical journey of Odia films. Old and classic Odia films including ‘Sita Bibaha’, ‘Heera Neela’, Gapa Hele Bi Sata’, Chinha Achinha’, will be screened at the trade fair every evening.
Folk art, folk dance, and cultural programmes will also be held at the trade fair.

“Historic Bali Yatra will be inaugurated by Hon’ble CM tomorrow evening at around 5.00 PM. Every arrangement is in place and we have already given the finishing touch. It is a matter of pride for us that the Ambassador and High Commissioner of 13 countries will attend the trade fair,” Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde said mediapersons.
“Troupes from eight different countries will perform every evening. People of Odisha will get the international flavour in Bali Yatra this year,” the District Collector added.
