In an unprecedented move, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took a hands-on approach to address public grievances by meeting people outside the official grievance cell on Monday, rather than retreating to the cloistered confines inside.

By doing so, the CM personally collected complaints from the people waiting for him, issuing immediate instructions to departmental officials to provide swift resolutions.

Citizens who were eager to present their cases directly to Chief Minister Majhi expressed contentment with the opportunity and awaited optimistic resolutions to their concerns.

One poignant encounter involved a 12-year-old boy named Alok Kalse from the Saintala locality of Bolangir district. Upon becoming aware of the differently-abled Alok’s presence, the CM approached the minor boy, enquiring about his health. Recognising the urgent need for medical care, the CM arranged for Alok to be swiftly transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Consequently, Alok was admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.

Alok’s family had been struggling to meet the financial demands necessary for his medical care. In search of assistance, they turned to the Chief Minister’s grievance cell, where they received a timely and empathetic response, the minor boy’s family expressed.

“CM directly received the grievance from me and assured me of an early resolution of the matter. I did not have to go and meet the CM, rather he came to me. I am immensely happy with this and expect that my problem will be sorted out soon,” a youth said to OTV.

“My husband is 100 per cent physically disabled and he has not been granted pension yet. Despite running from pillar to post, my application is not being heard for over nine months. The CM assured me to send my application to the District Collector and after obtaining sanction from the government, the pension will be given,” an elderly woman stated.

“My happiness will multiply when the pension will be granted,” the woman added.
