Sagarika Nath, a 2016-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on a deputation basis.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the Odisha government in this regard, requesting her immediate relieving to take up the central deputation.
Currently serving as the SP of Khordha district, Nath's transition to the central agency is expected to bolster NIA’s operational strength.
"I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to convey the approval of competent authority for induction of Ms. Sagarika Nath, IPS(OD:2016) as Superintendent of Police in National Investigation Agency (NIA) against existing vacancy as per usual terms and conditions of central deputation," read the letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"It is therefore requested that Ms. Sagarika Nath, IPS(OD:2016) may please be relieved immediately to enable her to take up her new assignment at the Centre," it added.
