Odisha Cabinet okays Rs 6029 cr outlay for KALIA scheme till 2026-27, eases norms for disbursal of financial aid

The Cabinet has eased the norms for disbursal of financial assistance to farmers by approving the modification of implementation mechanism.

Ahead of the elections, the Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved the extension of the Farmers Welfare Scheme KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) by three more years and approved an estimated budget of Rs 6029.70 crore for 2024-25 to 2026-27. 

"For hassle-free and smooth implementation of this welfare scheme and to bring the farmers into the financial mainstream of the society and to ensure their participation in the financial progress of the State, the State Cabinet have approved an estimated budget of Rs 6029.70 crore for the up-coming three years (2024- 25 to 2026-27) which aims at benefiting all the farm families under KALIA schemes," said a government statement.
