Odisha Cabinet approves 10 proposals, including Ayushman Bharat implementation

The Odisha Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, approved 10 proposals of departments aimed at benefiting the people of the state on Friday. The decisions were announced by the Chief Minister in the Assembly, marking significant policy advancements in healthcare, infrastructure, and employment.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana Gets Green Signal

One of the most notable decisions taken by the Odisha Cabinet is the approval of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) for Odisha. With this, over 3.46 crore people in the Odishae will now be eligible for free healthcare services under the central government’s flagship health insurance scheme. This move is expected to significantly improve access to quality medical treatment for economically weaker sections.

The government has assured that all necessary infrastructure will be developed for the seamless implementation of the program.

Approval of State Road Policy

The Odisha Cabinet has also approved Odisha’s Road Policy, which aims to enhance connectivity across the state. The new policy focuses on improving rural and urban road networks, ensuring better transportation facilities, and boosting economic development. 

Revised Employment Policy for Families of Deceased Government Employees

Another significant decision taken by the state cabinet involves amendments to the employment policy concerning the families of deceased government employees.

The government has also decided to extend the validity of the One Time Settlement Scheme introduced by the Water Resources Department for the collection of arrears of water tax of central and state PSUs, private, industrial, commercial and other establishments till May 31, 2025.
