The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha Class 10 examination commenced today. Students across the state seemed excited and were seen arriving at their designated exam centres before time for their matric summative assessment II.
The examination for the first sitting started at 8 am. So, the students were asked to be present at the exam centres by 7:45 am. The question paper packets reached the concerned examination centres under police escort and other administrative officials.
The students were directed to only carry their admit cards, blue and black pens, pencils and geometry boxes. No other items were allowed inside the examination centre. Students were seen seeking the blessings of their teachers and guardians before stepping into the examination centres.
Speaking to the media, School Mass and Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said, “The examination started peacefully everywhere. The question papers were distributed to the students at 7:45 am in the first sitting. The students appear to be well prepared for the examination.”
“All necessary precautions have been taken for the peaceful conduct of the exam. We started the exam at 8 am due to the heat. I’m hopeful that the examination concludes peacefully.”
“We also made sure that the question paper is escorted by police to the exam centres. So, there is no chance of question paper leak. Chief Secretary also had a meeting with the District Collectors to ensure proper commencement of all the exams. Hopefully, everything will go well with the blessings of Lord Jagannath,” he concluded.
A student said, “I have prepared well. I pray that my exam goes well. I’m a bit nervous but excited at the same time.”
As many as 5,41,247 students will be appearing for the matriculation or the Class 10 high school certificate examination at 3218 examination centres across the state.
The examination will conclude on March 17, 2023.
