The formation of the new Odisha BJP team will be announced only after the election of the party’s national president, informed state BJP president Manmohan Samal on Friday.
Addressing media persons, Samal clarified that the organizational process is in line with the party's constitutional framework, and no decision on the state team will be taken until the national leadership is finalized.
“This is a constitutional practice within the party. Once the national president is elected, the state-level appointments and team formation will follow,” Samal said.
Responding to a query on when the central president's election will be completed, he noted that there is no specific deadline set as of now.
On being asked about appointments to various state-run corporations and boards, Samal stated that the party would hold internal discussions before arriving at a decision. He assured that due consideration would be given to organizational roles and responsibilities.
The statement comes amid growing speculation about the restructuring of the Odisha BJP unit following the party’s recent electoral performance. The delay in announcing the new team has drawn attention from both party workers and political observers in the state.
