The Winter Session of Odisha Assembly began on a stormy note on Tuesday. Following ruckus by  Opposition BJD and Congress members over the death of three tribals by eating mango kernel allegedly due to lack of food grain, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House first for an hour and later till 4 pm today.

The ruckus prevailed in Odisha Assembly soon after the obituary reference to six ex-members. The House observed a one-minute silence in respect of the departed former members of the Assembly.

Both the BJD and the Congress MLAs trooped into the well of the House and created ruckus over the death of tribal women in Kandhamal district.

As the din continued in the well of the House, the Speaker initially adjourned the proceedings of the House till 12.25 pm and later till 4 pm.

As per official sources, the winter session of the Odisha assembly will continue till December 31. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who is also in charge of the Finance department, is scheduled to present supplementary budget in the afternoon session of the House.
