Odia migrant workers stuck in Saudi Arabia reunite with family following BJP VP Jay Panda's interven
After enduring a terrifying ordeal in Saudi Arabia, eight migrant workers were finally rescued, all thanks to BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda. All the migrant workers reached home safely following the intervention of the Kendrapara MP.
Four months back, they were lured to work as plumbers in Saudi Arabia on the promise of better wages. However, upon reaching there, they were engaged by a Pakistani company where they were made to work under extreme conditions without pay. They were even deprived of their food and threatened with dire consequences by their employer.
Through a video, they narrated the harsh and isolated conditions they were living in and urged BJP MP Baijayant Panda to rescue them.
“After going there, we came to know that there is no company as such. He was just a contractor and made us work in extreme conditions. He neither paid us nor gave us food. We had requested Baijayant sir and he helped us come back home safely,” said Baburam Sahu.
Similarly, another worker said, “We are extremely grateful to Baijayant sir. Ever since we released the video of our plight, we were contacted by his office. They ensured our safe return and were constantly in touch with us. They made sure we had our food and safe.”
When contacted, Kendrapara BJP leader Krushna Chandra Panda said, “The mother of one of the workers who is from Aul narrated his ordeal to Baijayant sir. He has always been the saviour for all who are stuck in any country abroad. Immediately, he assured us that he would rescue everyone safely and bring them back home. He kept his word and brought back everyone safely.”
