With the festive season fast approaching, the Cuttack district administration is bracing itself up for safe celebrations during the upcoming festivals including Dusshera.
As a part of the preparation, Cuttack district Collector and District Magistrate, Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde has promulgated prohibitory orders banning highly noise-producing DJ music and sound systems at pandals, immersion rallies, and processions as well as in Bali Yatra Utsav.

Similarly, the district administration has banned fireguns and other fire-emitting devices within puja pandals, immersion rallies, and processions and in Bali Yatra Utsav. Highly noise-producing and inflammable firecrackers are also not allowed during the festive season and in Bali Yatra Utsav.
“Any person who contravenes this order shall be liable to be punished in accordance with the provisions of law,” read the order.
The IICs of all police stations have been directed to enforce the order in letter and in spirit.
