Authorities of Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, have introduced a new rule for the visitors. Visitors to the National Park now have to mandatorily book their tickets online. The Regional chief conservator of forests (RCCF) and field director, Prakash Chand Gogineni recently informed about the development.

The government has approved the proposal to implement mandatory online ticket booking for all visitors starting February 1. This move is aimed at ensuring smooth entry, and exit and preventing traffic congestion for tourists and their vehicles. This apart, it will ensure transparency and streamline the entry process.

It will also prevent any kind of irregularities in using permits for private vehicles.

Step-by-step Guide to Book Tickets Online:

1. To obtain entry, visitors need to go to online website www.similipal.org or www.ecotourodisha.com.

2. Click on ‘Book Online’ placed on the top right of the website.

3. In the booking section, you will get options to book entry ticket, night stay, jungle safari and cruise (boating).

4. Fill up all necessary details accordingly and you will be redirected to pay a nominal fees.

5. Once the fees is paid, you will get a confirmation message.

6. Enjoy your tour.

Other Guidelines to Follow:

1. For best view & comfortable journey through the park, visitors can also book the 12-seater capacity Safari Vehicles of the park through Online mode (before 7 am on the day of visit through www.similipal.org or www.ecotourodisha.com) or Offline mode at the Entry Gates (after 7 am on the day of visit).

2. Non-vegetarian food items & liquor are not allowed inside the park. Cooked Food (both Non-vegetarian & Vegetarian) is served for visitors inside the Tiger Reserve at Barehipani with prior booking. The canteen is being managed by the local communities through Eco-Development Committee.

3. Professional still & video cameras are allowed with necessary permission & deposit of fees through online mode or offline mode at the entry gates. Drones are not allowed inside the park.
