According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) sources, the world-famous Vaishnavite shrine in Puri is all set to resume queue Darshan (line-based viewing of the Holy Trinity) for devotees on September 15. This move comes after the much-awaited formation of the new managing committee, which is expected to be completed by September 4.

Following the committee’s first official meeting, the temple ‘Hundi’ will be relocated, and soon after, the queue Darshan system will be implemented. This arrangement is aimed at ensuring orderly viewing for devotees and effective crowd control within the premises.

Officials from the temple administration said they are fully prepared and are working to roll out the new system as soon as the committee holds its inaugural session. With this new setup, devotees will be able to have Darshan in a secure and systematic manner, reducing congestion during peak hours.

The reintroduction of queue Darshan in Puri Jagannath Temple is part of broader efforts to enhance devotee experience while maintaining tradition and discipline in one of Hinduism’s holiest pilgrimage centres.

“After the formation of the new managing committee soon a final decision on the shifting of Hundi will be taken in the first meeting of the managing committee. Following the relocation of Hundi, within a week, this is apparent that we will start the queue Darshan system,” Law Minister, Prithiviraj Harichandan, said to mediapersons.

“By September 15, the new arrangement will be introduced. Keeping this in mind, we are proceeding in this regard,” the Law Minister asserted.
