The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a pivotal meeting at its state headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, focusing on synchronising party activities with government initiatives. The party will choose its new chief for Odisha by the end of this month, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar said mediapersons.
According to sources, the announcement of a new state BJP president is anticipated this month, as alluded to by the state in-charge during the gathering.

The meeting saw the presence of numerous high-profile figures, including the current state president Manmohan Samal, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, two Deputy Chief Ministers, and several ministers.
BJP's Odisha in-charge, Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, along with various office-bearers and wing presidents, were also in attendance.
During the discussions, the BJP’s state in-charge underscored the importance of strategies designed to align the party’s efforts with government schemes. This alignment aims to ensure that such initiatives penetrate to the grassroots level, thereby enhancing the party’s recognition for its role in these efforts.
The BJP continues its endeavours to include more citizens in the government schemes, with the party’s membership in the State already exceeding seventy lakh.

Besides organisational coordination, the meeting also affirmed the party’s preparedness for ensuing electoral battles, extending beyond anticipated panchayat elections.
“We discussed how to take the benefits of the government schemes to each doorstep. What we did during the past seven months, could not have been done in seven years. We are implementing our election manifesto in totality,” the BJP's state in-charge said.
