BJD supremo and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Mumbai on June 22 for specialised treatment of Cervical Arthritis, sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, former Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik is currently suffering from cervical arthritis and will be traveling to Mumbai on June 22 for his medical treatment. Patnaik will receive medical care at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai under the guidance of leading health experts and his personal physician. He will undergo a specialised procedure at the private health facility as advised by the health experts.
Cervical Arthritis, a condition that affects cervical spine
Renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Ramakant Panda, who is also Patnaik’s personal physician, is coordinating the treatment in Mumbai. A condition that affects the cervical spine and can lead to severe neck pain and stiffness requires expert medical attention.
“As advised by medical experts, I would be undergoing a procedure for cervical arthritis on the 22nd of this month at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. My personal doctor Dr. Ramakant Panda, is coordinating this in Mumbai. With blessings of Lord Jagannatha and good wishes of my brothers and sisters of Odisha, looking forward to returning soon to continue to serve all of you,” expressing optimism, Naveen Patnaik posted on his personal X handle.
Wishing a speedy recovery, BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda took to X and posted, “Wishing former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Legislative Assembly @Naveen_Odisha good health and a successful medical procedure. May Mahaprabhu Jagannath’s blessings guide you towards a speedy recovery.”
The news has prompted well-wishers across political and public circles to extend prayers for Patnaik’s speedy recovery. The senior leader, who served as Odisha’s Chief Minister for over two decades, remains a key political figure in the State.
