Odisha Chief Minister, Mohan Majhi on Wednesday slammed the leader of the opposition and former CM, Naveen Patnaik by accusing him of destroying the state instead of development in the past 24 years.
The CM further took a jibe at Patnaik, who was earlier seen at public meetings with officers, while other MLAs and ministers used to stand near the dias. Whenever the Odia Asmita will be in danger, there would be a change of government, said CM Mohan Majhi.
“You witnessed 24 years of governance and the previous government destroyed democracy and pushed the state backwards in the name of development. In the name of 5T transformations, only school walls were painted and money was looted. The previous BJD government looted people’s money. When an Odia is hurt, then there would certainly be a change in government. Based on this, the people brought a new government,” said CM Majhi.
In the name of women's empowerment, what the previous government has done, questioned CM Majhi.
“The claims of interest-free loans to Mission Shakti by the BJD government are not based on facts as the Centre was paying Rs 11 while the state government was providing only Rs 4 as interest. But Naveen Patnaik claimed that the entire money was provided by him. Not only this, the PMAY scheme was hijacked and Naveen Babu was in the habit of claiming other's children as his own. The people realised this and gave a befitting reply. The previous government got trapped in its own conspiracy for vote bank,” the CM added.
Meanwhile, no comments were received from the BJD over the CM’s statements.
