A group of miscreants allegedly set Sri Kaleswar High School in Badakharidag village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district on fire late on Monday night.

According to sources , the assailants targeted the school's NCC room, setting it on flames.

Though the night watchman managed to control the fire, preventing major damage, the miscreants managed to flee the spot.

Complaint Lodged

Meanwhile, the school authorities have immediately informed the police and higher officials about the incident.

“Several unidentified miscreants barged into the school premises late on Monday night and set the NCC room on fire before fleeing the spot. They have also entered into the office room on Sunday and stolen five computers. We have informed the matter to police and other senior officials,” said Balakrushan Sabar, head master in-charge of the school.

Parents Express Concern 

Earlier, the school was vandalized and five computers were stolen. With repeated attacks on the school, now parents and locals have raised serious concern about the safety and security of students and teachers.

Meanwhile, no official response has been received from the police regarding the incident.
