Miscreants kill woman after tying husband to tree in Koraput

In a gruesome incident, some miscreants allegedly killed a woman after tying her husband to a tree at Hariamunda village under Nandapur police station in Koraput district on Monday night.

According to sources, one Mahendra Khara and his wife were returning from Nandapur when some miscreants attacked them near Handaltota on Monday night. 

The assailants thrashed Mahendra mercilessly by tying him to a tree. Subsequently, they killed Mahendra’s wife and ran away from the spot, sources added.

Later Mahendra was rescued and admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

Upon being informed, Nandapur police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

However, the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
