Top Maoist leader arrested close to Odisha border; reveals internal details during interrogation
Top Maoist leader Balmuri Narayan Rao, aka Prabhakar, has reportedly revealed internal details of the Maoist organisation to the police following his arrest from the forests of Chhattisgarh, close to the Odisha border, on Monday.
As per reports, a special team of Chhattisgarh police nabbed Prabhakar from a location close to Bijapur in Chhattisgarh, adjacent to Odisha’s Malkangiri district, on December 23.
Though police have not disclosed the exact nature and location of the operation, he was reportedly nabbed from the dense areas of the Bastar forest region near Bijapur.
Prabhakar has reportedly revealed details of the working, operations, and plans of the Maoists during police interrogation, added sources.
Prabhakar happens to be the nephew of the Maoist Central Committee Secretary Ganapathy while his wife, Raje Kange, holds the position of Divisional Committee Member in the organisation.

The arrested Naxalite was reportedly a part of the organisation for over 40 years as a frontline leader. He is said to have joined the Maoist organisation in 1984, and carried out several frontline attacks following which the Chhattisgarh government announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head.

Prabhakar’s arrest is now expected to highly boost the morale of police and the state forces which are currently involved in an extensive manhunt to track down Maoists across several states under a special drive by the Union Home Ministry.
