Senior saffron party leader Manmohan Samal is all set to be re-elected as the president of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Odisha unit. As per sources, the formal announcement in this regard will be made on Tuesday.

The ascent of the BJP in Odisha to power was notably shaped by the strategic leadership of Samal, a key figure during the 2024 elections in the state.

Samal's deep-rooted connections with the Sangh Parivar were instrumental in fortifying the party's position in the state.

Samal has long been a significant figure in Odisha politics, having first entered the political scene as the Student Union President of Bhadrak College in 1979. His journey continued as he took on the role of BJP state president in 1999, demonstrating his commitment to the party's growth. Samal was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2000 further establishing his influence. His election as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dhamanagar in 2004 marked another milestone in his political career.
