Man sets himself ablaze protesting construction of govt road on his land in Odisha's Balasore

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attempted to end his life by setting himself on fire protesting against the construction of a government road on his land at Kadambagadi village under Barahampur police limits in Balasore.

The victim has been identified as Rishi Jena.

According to sources, Jena has been protesting the construction of a concrete government road on his land for a long time. As his protest yielded no results, he, finding no other option, set himself on fire by pouring petrol on him.

As per the initial report, the daughter of the victim also sustained serious burn injuries while trying to save her father.

The duo has been rushed to Nilagiri hospital, sources informed.
