The deceased have been identified as Sibalal Suna of Kathaumal village under Gaisilet block and Baladeb Sahu alias Balaram of Bisipali village under Bheden block.

In one incident, the deceased Sibalal, a labourer, was engaged in canal construction work. Like any other day, he along with other labourers went to the construction site on Sunday morning. On their way back, he came in front of a tusker. Before he could think of anything to avoid being attacked by the wild animal, the latter picked the former up and trampled him under its feet, leading to his death.
