In a major breakthrough for the security forces, as many as four hardcore Maoists including two men and two women surrendered before the Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday.
As per reports, the Red Ultras surrendered before Gariaband police , CRPF 65 Battalion, CRPF 211, and CoBRA 207 unit.
The Maoists, who had been spreading terror across parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh for over a decade, laid down a huge cache of arms and explosives during the surrender.
Those who surrendered have been identified as DGN Division member Deepak alias Bhima Mandavi, protection team member Kailash, area committee member Ranita alias Payki, and Sujita.
The Chhattisgarh government had earlier announced cash rewards of Rs 8 lakh on Deepak, Rs 5 lakh each on Kailash and Ranita, and Rs 1 lakh on Sujita.

During the surrender, police seized Rs 16 lakh in cash, 31 bullets, two empty magazines, detonators, eight BGLs, 12-bore cartridges, and a large volume of Maoist literature.
Senior officials including Raipur Range IG Amaresh Mishra and IG (Anti-Naxal Operations) Ankit Garg were present on the occasion.
This surrender is seen as a significant blow to Maoist influence in the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border region.
