The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced to run seven Kumbh Mela special trains covering Odisha districts.

The following special trains will run for the convenience of the devotees from Odisha going to attend the Kumbh Mela.

  • Bhubaneswar - Tundla - Bhubaneswar Kumbh Mela Special. Covering districts - Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendujhar

  • Puri-Tundla-Puri Kumbh Special (Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Baleswar)

  • Titilagarh-Tundla-Titilagarh Kumbh Special (Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh)

  • Visakhapatnam - DDU (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn)-Visakhapatnam Kumbh Special (Rayagada, Balangir, Nuapada)

  • Visakhapatnam -Gorakhpur-Visakhapatnam Kumbh Special (Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda)

  • Tirupati-Banaras-Tirupati Kumbh Special (Rayagada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela (Sundargarh))

  • NS-Banaras-NS Kumbh Mela Special (Rayagada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela (Sundargarh))

All the special trains will run through Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Maha Kumbh is set to be held on ‘Paush Purnima’ in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26.

During this time, millions of devotees gather to bathe in sacred rivers, seeking spiritual purification. During this period, pilgrims participate in rituals and take holy dips at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers. The festival is expected to attract around 400 million visitors.
