Several districts in Odisha are predicted to experience rainfall today due to a low pressure area, with heavy rains expected in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh. A yellow warning is issued for these districts. Light to moderate rain is likely across many areas.

Several districts in Odisha are likely to experience rainfall under the influence of the low-pressure area today, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD). As per the IMD forecast, three districts- Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities and a yellow warning has been issued in this regard.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur in many places over the districts of Odisha in 24 hours.

Under the influence of the low-pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining north Odisha Gangetic West Bengal coasts, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely off the Odisha coast till  July 1, 2024.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast, North-West Bay of Bengal till July 1, IMD said in its forecast.

As per IMD, there will be a gradual drop in the intensity of rainfall in different parts of Odisha from tomorrow.
