Low pressure triggered rain to continue to lash several parts of Odisha today
Several districts in Odisha are likely to experience rainfall under the influence of the low-pressure area today, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD). As per the IMD forecast, three districts- Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities and a yellow warning has been issued in this regard.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur in many places over the districts of Odisha in 24 hours.
Under the influence of the low-pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining north Odisha Gangetic West Bengal coasts, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely off the Odisha coast till July 1, 2024.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast, North-West Bay of Bengal till July 1, IMD said in its forecast.
As per IMD, there will be a gradual drop in the intensity of rainfall in different parts of Odisha from tomorrow.
