When she fell in love with Dibyajyoti Sahoo and exchanged garlands with him following Hindu rituals, she hardly knew that the days to come wouldn’t be as rosy as she once dreamt of.
She said the love marriage has left her nowhere. After her husband’s death, her in-laws are refusing to accept her and her three-year-old child.
The hapless woman is a Bhubaneswar resident. According to her, as hers was a love marriage, she had not brought any dowry. This made her life a living hell. Her in-laws would allegedly give her an earful of abuse every day. They even didn’t spare their own son.
Unable to see her sufferings and bear the pain of separation from his child, her husband committed suicide holding his family members responsible for his death.

“In his suicide note, he wrote that he had been deprived of love and affection from his parents since his childhood days and that his child was also going away from him,” she said.
“I have moved the court demanding justice and have faith in the law. I also pray to the Lingaraj Police Station IIC to punish them as per the provisions in the law,” she added.
No comments were received from in-laws and the police in this regard.
