A special committee is set to be established to oversee the administration and streamline the conduct of the rituals at Lord Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, informed Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Thursday.
According to the Minister, the special committee will be formed under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge. This initiative aims to enhance the operational procedures of all the rituals in the historic temple.
The committee will carry out a strategic review of policy matters, consulting all stakeholders involved to ensure that temple operations are streamlined and efficient. This includes a thorough examination of services and records maintained by various nijogs affiliated with the temple.
The committee is tasked with submitting its findings to the government within two to three months. This report will form the basis for developing a robust framework for the temple’s management, as confirmed by the Law Minister. Following this, an exclusive legal framework designed specifically for the Lingaraj Temple will soon be put into effect.
