Lightning strike in mid-Chilika wipes out happiness of Odisha family as father-son killed

Though death is a universal truth, it is always uncertain. Losing a loved one shatters the hope and aspirations of families. In one such tragic incident, a man and his son died in a lightning strike incident at Chilika Lake in Odisha. The deceased have been identified as Bidhan Biswas and his son Uttam.

As per initial reports, the father-son duo had reportedly gone to Chilika for fishing when they were struck by lightning in the middle of the lake near Kalijugeswar hill on Sunday.

Though the family members tried to trace them, they failed in their attempts last night. The bodies were recovered from the fishing boat on Monday. The twin deaths have descended a pall of gloom on the village as the deceased Uttam’s wife had delivered a girl child yesterday.

Though his wife tried calling Uttam to give the good news, she couldn’t reach him over the phone.
