A woman teacher in Bhadrak district was placed under suspension recently for allegedly submitting a fake (Bachelor of Education) B.Ed certificate to grab the job.
The fake teacher has been identified as Rebati Jena who was working at Karanjiadia Government High School under Basudevpur Block in the district.
As per Basudevpur Block Education Officer (BEO) Jagabandhu Sahu, an FIR has also been lodged against Jena.
As per reports, Jena was appointed as a teacher in 2005 and her job was regularised in 2011.
However, after complaints against Jena was received that she has grabbed the job by submitting fake BED certificate, her certificates were verified and the truth came to the fore.
“After verification of the certificates, the truth came to the fore that Jena has submitted a fake B.Ed certificate to grab the job. She has been immediately suspended and an FIR has been lodged against her. We have also started departmental proceedings against the fake teacher,” said BEO Jagabandhu Sahu.
In another fraud incident, a fraudster in Bargarh district is on the run after allegedly duping 228 students of lakhs of rupees with the promise of giving them admission to B.Ed course.
The accused has been identified as Shyamanta Kumar Bhoi. The duped students have lodged complaints against Bhoi at Bargarh police station in this connection.
As per reports, Bhoi has allegedly taken Rs 35,000 from each student with the promise of giving them admission into B.Ed course. However, when the examination time came, Bhoi asked the students to reach the station and never turned up there.
Many students are facing difficulties in taking admission to other colleges as Bhoi has allegedly taken the college leaving and migration certificates from them.
“Bhoi has taken Rs 35,000 from each student. However, he has taken Rs 47,000 from two students including me. He has also taken our College leaving and migration certificates. We belong to middle class families. We are facing lots of difficulties in taking admission in other colleges,” said Smaranika Panda, a student.
“Bhoi had taken money from us with the assurance of admission in an Andhra College. We came to know about the fraud when he didn’t turn up at the railway station,” said Saroj Pujari, another student.
Bargarh police said efforts are being made to nab the fraudster as soon as possible.
“We have already sent three teams to different places to nab the fraudster who is absconding. We have also launched an investigation into the incident. Following the arrest of the culprit, the entire plot could be revealed,” said Tapan Kumar Mohanty, Additional SP of Bargarh.
