A comprehensive investigation has been initiated following the tragic death of a student at the KIIT University campus in Bhubaneswar. Senior officials led by the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home Department visited the varsity on Wednesday.

The high-level Committee was previously constituted under the Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Odisha, Home Department along with the Principal Secretary Women & Child Development, and Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Higher Education Department for inquiry into the matter.
Here is what the high-level probe committee chief said
“Acting on the directive of State government, a three-member committee has reached. An inquiry report will be submitted to the Government; hence, let us do our work. We will have a dialogue with the affected students,” the ACS Satyabrata Sahu said to mediapersons.
Accompanying them is the Twin City Police Commissioner, who was also on-site to ensure meticulous scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“I am here to look after the law order situation. As you can see, there is normalcy. Classes are going on and both boys and girls are there and we have discussed with them. But those who have left have been appealed to come back,” the Twin City Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh expressed to the media.
“Nepali delegations are there and in touch. In due course they (affected students) will come back,” the Police Commissioner added.
The State government established the committee specifically tasked with examining this matter in depth. Members of the probe team are engaged in dialogue with students and other stakeholders to gather crucial insights and testimonies.

The team is visiting the location of the incident, aiming to piece together the events leading to the girl's untimely demise. After their extensive examination, the committee will compile a detailed report, which will be submitted to the Government for further action.
