In a dramatic development, Jitendra Ransingh's wife has accused four individuals, including the block vice-chairman, of attempting to murder her husband. The allegation comes after Ransingh was struck by a vehicle near Bhapur Kalapathar by-pass road. Authorities, led by Nayagarh Additional SP Subash Chandra Panda, are investigating the incident thoroughly.

In a new twist to the accident of Khandapara MLA Dusmanta Swain’s aide Jitendra Ransingh, the latter’s wife has brought serious allegations of ‘attempt to murder’ against four persons including the block vice-chairman.

Alleging a planned attempt to murder her husband by crushing him under a vehicle, Ransingh’s wife has lodged a written complaint with Fategarh police against the block vice-chairman and three others.

Based on the complaint, Nayagarh Additional SP, Khandapara SDPO, MVI, and Fatehgarh IIC along with the help of the forensic team have initiated a probe. The investigative team visited the accident spot and launched a thorough probe.

“We are probing the case from all angles. We have not reached any conclusion as of now. Every effort is being made to find the truth,” said Subash Chandra Panda, Additional SP, Nayagarh.

According to sources, Ransingh was on his way home after closing the local BJP office on Tuesday when he was hit by a vehicle near a temple on Bhapur Kalapathar by-pass road. Ransingh's condition is stable and he is currently under treatment at a Bhubaneswar-based private hospital.

When contacted, Khandapara MLA Dusmanta Swain said, “The police department is conducting an impartial probe into the incident. The exact reason will be known only after a thorough police investigation.”
