BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda on Thursday met the aggrieved family members of two minor siblings who were charred to death in a cooking gas cylinder explosion at Balarampur village under Rajnagar police limits of Kendrapara district.
Upon reaching Balarampur village, Baijayant Panda visited the spot where the mishap had occurred on August 15, met the parents of the deceased siblings and consoled and comforted them.
“The incident is an unfortunate one. Today, the Retired Armed Forces Association and our party workers raised funds and donated to the affected family. We had taken a pledge to stand with people through thick and thin and we have been standing with them. I came here to meet the family and assure them that we are with them” he said.
The Parliamentarian was accompanied by district BJP president Kishore Panda, BJP leaders Lalit Behera and Sunakar Behera, party workers, local Sarpanch and social activists.
During his visit to the district, he also joined an informal tea meeting that was attended by party functionaries of Patharkani Mandal, local and district-level leaders and workers.
During the discussion, he laid emphasis on the party’s organisation and said the grassroots workers are the real strength of the party.
