Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Sunday conducted an on-ground assessment of the damage caused by the recent Kalbaisakhi storm in Bangiriposhi, Mayurbhanj district. During his visit, the minister assured the affected residents that they would receive full financial compensation for their losses.
Speaking to the media in Baripada, Minister Pujari confirmed that the damage report had been finalized and that compensation funds would be credited online by this evening. He emphasized that those without Aadhaar-linked bank accounts would receive their compensation through direct cash transfer.

Government's Swift Response to the Disaster:
The severe Kalbaisakhi storm, which struck Mayurbhanj two days ago, caused widespread destruction, particularly in Bangiriposhi, Bishoi, Kuliana, Sarasakana, and Karanjia blocks. Reports indicate that over 400 houses in 19 panchayats were damaged, leaving many families homeless.
In response, the Odisha government promptly deployed senior revenue officials to the affected areas to assess the situation. Over the past two days, the minister and his team have visited villages, interacted with affected families, and compiled a comprehensive report on the damages.
Compensation to Be Disbursed Today:
Minister Pujari reiterated that the Odisha government is committed to providing immediate relief. The compiled report has enabled the administration to process compensation payments swiftly. By this evening, all eligible residents will receive their financial aid via online transfer.
For those who do not have Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, the government has arranged for direct cash disbursement to ensure that no affected family is left without support.

The aftermath of the Kalbaisakhi storm has left many villages in distress. Entire households have been reduced to rubble, with families struggling to rebuild their lives.
