Rail services have been affected on several routes in Odisha after 18 coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district early on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accident took place at 3.45 AM near Barabamboo, around 80 km from Jamshedpur, under the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway. At least six persons were injured in the mishap.
Following the train accident, East Coast Railway has cancelled and diverted several trains.
As per a release issued by the ECoR, while three trains have been cancelled, eight have been diverted.
