An injured monkey has once again started a debate on animal consciousness and intelligence after it reached a medicine shop for treatment. The monkey not only reached a medicine store but also held the hand of the shop owner and showed its injury.
The shop owner, who was about to close the shop, finally understood what the monkey wanted and offered treatment. The adorable incident has been reported from Kishantandi in Morada block of Mayurbhanj district.
According to sources, Taranisen Mohanta owns a medicine store in front of the Kishantandi Community Health Centre. As usual, he opened his shop at around 11am and was panicked to see a monkey in front of his shop.
Terrified, he was about to run away, when the monkey reportedly held him by his hand and pointed towards its injury on its back. With its gesture, the monkey asked Taranisen to treat the injury.
A kind-hearted man, Taranisen later understood the monkey’s pain and attended to the simian’s wounds. While no exact reason for the injury was known immediately, locals suspect it might have suffered injuries while jumping from one tree to another.
The pictures and video of the monkey’s unusual act have gone viral on social media.
