Several parts of Odisha are likely to witness maximum temperature over 40 degree Celsius in next couple of days, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the prediction by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the maximum day temperature is expected to rise by 6-8 degrees Celsius across Odisha during the period.
IMD has issued Yellow Warning for hot and humid weather in Odisha starting from April 17. Maximum temperature is expected to reach 43 degrees Celsius in Bolangir, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Jharsuguda and Sonpur during the period.
“Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience a rise in temperature by six to eight degrees Celsius in the next couple of days. Coastal districts of Odisha like Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Puri will witness severe hit and humid conditions from April 14. Several parts of Odisha will experience more than 40 degree Celsius on April 15-16,” said IMD scientist Umashankar Das.
“Western parts of Odisha like Bolangir, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Jharsuguda, and Sonepur are likely to witness maximum temperature of over 43 degrees Celsius from April 17. Considering the situation, Yellow Warning has been issued for hot and humid weather in the State from April 17. Heat wave warning has also been issued in several parts of Odisha on April 15 and 16,” he added.
