IMD issues Orange Warning for heat wave conditions in 19 districts of Odisha

Odisha is currently grappling with severe heat wave condition. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued Orange Warning for heat wave conditions in as many as 19 districts of the State till April 22.

Moreover, IMD has issued severe heat wave warning in districts like Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha and Cuttack.

As per the prediction by IMD, the mercury is likely to soar further in coming days. The situation is likely to continue till Monday.

Talcher was the hottest place in the State till 8.30 am today as it recorded the maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius. It was followed by Bhawanipatna with 34. 5 degree Celsius and Tilagarh with 33.4 degree Celsius. Jharsuguda and Baripada experienced maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius each during the period. Bhubaneswar witnessed 31.8 degree Celsius early in the morning.

The Capital City was the hottest place in the State on Friday as it recorded maximum temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius on Thursday. After Bhubaneswar, Boudh was the second hottest city with 43.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Angul (43.3 degrees Celsius), Jharsuguda ( 42.8 degrees Celsius), Baripada (42.6 degrees Celsius), Titlagarh, Malkangiri and Khordha ( 42.5 degrees Celsius each).
