Odisha is currently short of crucial civil service personnel in the IAS, IPS, and IFS cadres, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state assembly on Monday.
During the assembly session, he revealed that the state needs 182 more officers to reach its full sanctioned strength.
Out of 584 total sanctioned posts for IAS, IPS, and IFS combined, only 402 are filled.

For the IAS cadre, 203 of 248 sanctioned positions are occupied, leaving 45 vacant.
In the IPS cadre, 129 out of 195 posts are filled; 66 are vacant.
The IFS cadre is most affected with just 70 of 141 sanctioned roles being filled, which means 71 vacancies persist.
The Chief Minister also stated that the state government has formally asked the Centre to expedite the process of filling these vacancies.
