Home guard among two dead in SUV-truck collision in Boudh

A home guard and the driver of an SUV were killed after the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a speeding truck at Kamalpur Square in Boudh district late Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Jagannath Meher and Prashant. An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and another home guard were critically injured in the mishap.

As per reports, the ill-fated SUV was privately owned and was rented by the policemen who were returning from Cuttack to Boudh after finishing an investigation.

The injured policemen were rushed to Boudh hospital where they are currently under treatment.

Following the mishap, the truck driver and the helper fled the spot.

The police have seized both the vehicles and launched a probe into the mishap.
