Several parts of Odisha are very likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall activities in the next 24 hours under the influence of the deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Sunday.
While a red warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) has been issued for Mayurbhanj, an Orange warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Balasore and Sundargarh for the next 24 hours.
According to the bulletin issued by the regional weather office, rough to very rough sea conditions are very likely to prevail over the north Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha coasts till the night of September 15.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) alerted the district Collectors and directed them to ensure preparatory measures as there is a possibility of rising water levels of rivers.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the north Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha coasts till September 16.

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul.
